Recruiting scams have become more prevalent, and victims are contacted for fake job offers by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure them into providing sensitive personal or financial information, send money or pay for activities related to the recruitment process.

Be Aware of Unsolicited and Fraudulent Job Offers

We are NOT currently hiring any freelancers. If you want to see a full list of our open job offers, visit our careers page. Any job outside of this list was NOT posted by Sharethrough.

We wish to inform you that during the recruitment process or in any employment offer, Sharethrough Inc. (“Sharethrough”)  will never require payment of fees or upfront payments. Additionally, recently hired Sharethrough employees will never be asked to pay any fees, including those associated with visa applications or necessary equipment such as laptops or other equipment required for you to perform your duties .

All jobs advertised by Sharethrough will exclusively be listed on Sharethrough’s website or LinkedIn. If you have any doubts regarding the authenticity of job listings or communications purportedly from or on behalf of Sharethrough, please contact us.

Although scams may seem authentic, it is crucial to research the legitimacy of any recruiting communication and be mindful of fraudulent tactics. Below are  examples of employment scams to be aware of:

Example of employment scams:

  • Requiring payment (or pre-payment) for visa applications or processing services;
  • Questionnaire based employment interviews; and
  • Employment offers over social media or communications tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Other common indicators include, without limitation:

  • Request for payment to apply for a job;
  • Request for financial account details;
  • Request for personally identifiable  information (e.g., Social Security Number, Social Insurance Number, National Insurance Number, passport information, passwords, etc.);
  • Request for payments to be sent to a third-party;
  • Request for payment for professional or business opportunities;
  • Unsolicited communications; and
  • Misspellings of Sharethrough in online domain names or email addresses.
