Read this article to get an inside look at what’s ahead for Green Media Summit 2025—the industry-first event for sustainability in digital advertising.
Three years ago, we identified a critical need: the advertising industry lacked clear education on its carbon footprint and actionable guidelines for meaningful change. This realization sparked the creation of the Green Media Summit—the first industry-focused event dedicated to sustainability in advertising. Building on the success of our 2023 debut, we expanded in 2024, hosting it on the green rooftop of the Javits Center—a powerful symbol of our commitment to a greener future. Now, just one month away from its third edition, the Green Media Summit continues to evolve.
What to Look Forward to in 2025
Beyond Learning: Turning Education into Action
What started as an educational event has now become a powerful platform for driving sustainable actions and shaping a more sustainable industry. In 2025, I feel that the current global context makes this event more relevant than ever before. Our planet is suffering from the increasing effects of global warming, and most scientists agree that we are already falling short of the targets set by the Paris Agreement. Every industry needs to work together to build & commit to sustainable practices, and we strongly believe that advertising can set the tone and lead by example.
This year, while sustainability in digital advertising remains our core focus, we’re broadening the conversation to explore AI, DEI, socioeconomic context, and more — key forces shaping the future of our industry. This year’s Green Media Summit will reflect the complexity of today’s world and the interconnectedness of sustainability with other pressing global issues. I truly believe this will be our most impactful and inspiring summit yet.
Consumers Expect Change—The Time is Now
Consumers today expect brands to lead the charge in building a better future—sometimes even more than governments. Advertising has the power to influence better consumer behaviors, more sustainable business practices, and a cultural shift toward environmental responsibility. The Green Media Summit is not just a forum for celebrating success stories—it’s a space where we discuss roadblocks and challenges, share solutions, and push for real industry transformation.
