In a world where environmental consciousness is more critical than ever, Sharethrough is proud to lead the charge in sustainable practices. With our core company OKR centered around sustainability alongside our corporate values of caring and ownership, our commitment goes beyond just words – it's a tangible part of our daily operations and our culture. That’s why I am thrilled to write about Sharethrough’s Earth Week initiative, a celebration of our planet and a testament to our dedication to caring for it. From reducing our carbon footprint to promoting environmental education, every activity is a step forward in our mission to make a positive impact on the world around us.
Building Off Sharethrough’s 2023 Earth Week
We organized not 1, but 2 whole weeks centered around awareness and caring for our planet. During these 2 weeks, Sharethrough was buzzing with fun activities where employees could display their caring for the environment and their ownership. Our slack channels were alive with engaging posts and sparking conversations about the environment. On Earth’s day, April 22nd, our team also came together for a virtual conference hosted by Richard Davis, co-founder & CEO at 51 to Carbon Zero. The conference allowed the team to deep dive into discussions about sustainability and brainstorm ways to drive change, both within and beyond our organization.
Cultivating Conversations: Sharethrough’s Sustainability-Focused All Hands
Our Earth Week coincided with our bi-monthly All Hands, so we used the get-together as an opportunity to reinforce our commitment to the planet by serving the Montreal office with organic and vegan meals from Copper Branch and Loop Mission. Since both are local companies, it served as a simple yet powerful reminder that every choice we make has the potential to make a difference. We also distributed planting seeds to our Montreal, Toronto, New York and London employees, for them to plant at home and watch as they grow into beautiful flowers for bees to forage.
Apart from the lively slack channels, the conference, the Sustainability All Hands, and the team building activities, we believe in backing up our words with action. Earth Week is not just about discussions – it’s about rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty. Our teams united for a volunteer clean-up day on Friday both in Montreal and Austin. The goal was to make a tangible difference in our communities and show that we're committed to walking the walk when it comes to environmental stewardship.
Paving The Way Towards A Sustainable Future
At Sharethrough, we're not satisfied with following trends – we're committed to setting them and paving the way. That's why, prior to the Earth Weeks, we organized and hosted the second very successful edition of the Green Media Summit in New York, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the role of media in driving environmental change. By leading by example and sharing our experiences, we hope to inspire others to join us on this journey towards a more sustainable future.
As Earth Week comes to a close, our commitment to sustainability remains as steadfast as ever. We know there's always more effort and more work to be done towards a greater future, but it is only together that we can make a difference – for our planet, for future generations, and for each other.

Behind Headlines: 180 Seconds in Ad Tech is a short 3-minute podcast exploring the news in the digital advertising industry. Ad tech is a fast-growing industry with many updates happening daily. As it can be hard for most to keep up with the latest news, the Sharethrough team wanted to create an audio series compiling notable mentions each week.
